About Department

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at G.V.Acharya Institute of Engineering and Technology,Shelu,Mumbai. We started our journey in the year of 2009. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical knowledge, how to students promote their problem-solving skills and innovation technologies. The students are encouraged to undertake various research projects. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are highly regarded. Department is well equipped with laboratories, Our students participate in various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities at state and national level & won awards.

Mechanical engineering department is working on three pillars structure for overall development of student. The first pillar is academic excellence; this pillar is established, through curricular & co-curricular activities. The second pillar of professional competence is achieved through various student development activities carried out by training, placement cell. The last pillar of social commitment is imbibed in the student through NSS activities societal importance projects by students.

Professional Experience Handled:
1. Worked as Pune University Syllabus Coordinator in Automobile Engineering course for 2008,2012& 2015 pattern.
2. Appointed as Paper setter in Pune University Exams several times.
3. Appointed as Subject Chairman in various subjects for several times in SPPU Pune University.
4. Worked as Board of Studies Member in (Adhoc Board) B.Vocational Course of Automobile Engineering at Shivaji University,Kolhapur for period of 2 years.
5. Worked as Head of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering Department for the period for 5 years in Samarth Group of Institutions, College of Engineering under Savitribai Phule Pune University.
6. Attended various Syllabus setting workshops of Mechanical Engineering subjects and worked in Syllabus framing committee of Automobile Engineering.
7. Worked for TATA STRIVE Company as a key person to develop Automotive labs.
8. Developed various Mechanical and Automobile Engineering Laboratories.
9. Organized 7 days training program on Gokart design, development and testing in Samarth college of Engineering, Pune.
10. Organized 8 days Internship Program on Electric and Gasoline Formula 5 Race car in G V Acharya Institute of Engineering and technology, Shelu- Mumbai.

Prof. Vasant Jog

He is having 45 years of total experience. He has completed B.E Mechanical in 1971 Govt College Of Engg Amaravati, M.E Mechanical in 1974 Walchand College Of Engg Sangli. He is having 25 years of experience in Industry: Oil and Gas Sector (19 in India, 6 in Middle East) Training Manager R.C.F. Ltd, 19 years. Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Oman, Sharjah, 6 years. also believe that our students should be mentored morally and ethically to be responsible citizens' of the society and country"

Teaching: 19 years in Engineering colleges, including Walchand College Of Engg ,Sangli (Aug 1974 - Aug 1979) 5 years Founder member of Leela Education Society, Started G.V.Acharya Institute of Engineering and Technology, Shelu, Karjat in April 2009. Presently working as Vice Principal (April 2009 – till date) 10 years.

Dr. Mukund Chitale

He has completed B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D Material Technology from IIT BOMBAY.He is having 28 years of Teaching Experience. Worked as Principal for 4 years in the same Institute. He is Director of the Institute since 2014.
